Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Do you have a floorplan that will suit my needs?
Answer: Yes, with over 60 plans of our own and with the capability to totally custom design a plan for you at no extra cost. Yes we have a floorplan for you.

Question: Who looks after getting the building permit?
Answer: The cost of the building permit is up to you. We provide you with the stamped drawings for the building department. They call us with any questions.

Question: What about site preparation?
Answer: You are responsible for your driveway and lot clearing.

Question: Who does the basement?
Answer: Our Premium Specifications include a standard excavation and full height insulated basement.

Our Contractors Package does not include the foundation and the pricing reflects that.

Question: How long does it take from start to finish?
Answer: From the time we start excavation to the time you’re ready to move-in is about 8 to 10 weeks.

Question: What’s available and does someone help us pick all of our finishing for our new home?
Answer: You will meet with our decorator who will walk you through your new home design and help you choose the finishing touches. If you do not see it in our decor centre ask and we will find for you.

Question: Who looks after the services?
Answer: You are responsible for bringing the hydro to the house, the water supply and sewer (septic) line into the basement ready for our plumber to hook-up. Our electrician hooks-up your new home including the meter base.

Question: My house is here now what?
Answer: Get your camera ready delivery day is pretty exciting. Leave the rest to us!!

Question: Do you do the heating system?
Answer: Yes. High efficiency gas or propane forced air complete with H.R.V. (Heat Recovery Ventilation).

Question: What about decks?
Answer: Decks, Steps and railings are optional.

Question: How long have you been here?
Answer: Our Model Homes have been a landmark on highway 11 for 25 years and we enjoy an excellent reputation for customer service.

Question: What is the warranty?
Answer: A full ten year structural warranty.

Question: Where are the houses built?
Answer: Just this side of Ottawa in a little town called Morewood, Ontario.

Question: What is the payment structure?
Answer: When you are comfortable with the design and pricing a $5,000.00 deposit is required to order your new home. $15,000.00 further deposit is required once you have chosen your finishes and finalized the drawings. The balance is due on delivery.

Question: Do you help with Financing?
Answer: Yes we do have a financing package in place and we work with all the banks, credit unions and financing institutions.

Question: Any Final Thoughts?
Answer: We are looking forward to being part of your dream and working with you to build your new home or cottage.
